Nigerian Army Denies Invasion of Kanu’s Home

Some hours ago information went viral that Nnamdi kanu’s home had been invaded by Soldiers of the Nigerian Army. It was also allege that five people were killed and thirty injured. The attackers IPOB said wore army and police uniforms and drove into the palace of the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu, who is the father of Nnamdi and started shooting people.

However, the Nigerian Army has denied the attack and killings of anybody in Afaraukwu. In a statement signed by Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi, the Assistant Director Army Public Relations 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, said that the report was far from truth saying that ‘it was a group of suspected IPOB militants that blocked the road against troops of 145 Battalion while on show of force along FMC-Word Bank Road in Umuahia town, Abia State at about 6.00-6.30pm, Sunday The army further said the IPOB militants insisted that the military vehicles would not pass and started pelting the soldiers with stones and broken bottles to the point of injuring an innocent female passerby and a soldier, Corporal Kolawole Mathew.

The troops fired warning shots in the air and the hoodlooms dispersed. No life was lost.

Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi urge people to go about their lawful duties without fear. And also warned trouble makers to desist from activities that would make the Army use force on them.
